Rahul Bharti, Ancient Massage and Ancient Healing
Born in Varanasi in India, Rahul Bharti had an unusual childhood marked by long periods of nomadic wandering. Learning and living with healers in India, Thailand and Sri Lanka he received transmissions on the arts of healing and took care for the well being of others since his early age. As a boy he traveled to Thailand and came into contact with the art of Ancient Massage. Gathering knowledge and developing his intuitive insight he studied and practiced in the north and south with local healers. After living in Thailand for many years and studying in Chiang Mai extensively (at the Old Medicine Hospital with Ajahn Sintorn Chaichakan and Chongkol Setthakorn, at The rePlace Thai massage School, with Chaiyuth Priyasith and Pichest Boonthumme), he has made Nepal his home. Rahul Bharti own father studied and lived with Italian Pranotherapist (Pranic Healer) Doctor Francesco Racanelli. In Nepal Rahul received teachings from Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Chokling Rinpoche and Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche.
Since his arrival in Nepal, Rahul Bharti, the
foremost pioneer of Ancient Massage / Thai Massage in Nepal and the
Indian subcontinent (besides Prabhat Menon in India), worked
privately and in collaboration with the Hotel Vajra, the Yoga Studio,
The Himalayan Yogic Institute (Lama Yeshe Rinpoche and Lama Zopa
Rinpoche meditation center in
Kathmandu) and others as teacher, teacher trainer and
therapist. He also taught students of the Naropa University and the
University of Wisconsin Study Abroad Programs in Nepal. In 1997, as The Himalayan Yogic Institute moved downtown, he
and a friend decided to rent the building and establish his first school, The
Kathmandu Center of Healing, which they founded and directed together.
In July 2011 The Healing Hands Center moved to Puducherry, India so that his children can study and live in a healthier environment.
